Tazkia and Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to Establish Scholarship Program – Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Progress

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 September 2023 – A distinguished delegation from the Tazkia Institute, led by the Honorable Dr. Ardhariksa Zukhruf Kurniullah, Chancellor of the institution, and consisting of prominent figures including Dr. for Strategic Partnerships and Innovation, and Dr. Wiku Suryomurti, Ph.D, Dean of the Islamic Faculty of Economics, Business and Management, as well as Nurul Imaroh, ME, Staff of Partnership, Domestic and International Affairs, lecturers and student ambassadors, made an important visit within the framework of the Tazkia International Academic Forum agenda to Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Kuala Mud on September 20, 2023.

The main aim of this visit is to initiate discussions regarding potential collaboration between the Tazkia Institute and IsDB, an important institution in the Islamic finance and development sector. The delegation was welcomed by Mr Samer Elesawi, Head, IsDB Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur and Mr Johan Khalidi, IsDB Communications & Marketing Specialist representative, and the conversation focused on various areas of cooperation that would benefit both parties.

Key highlights from the discussion included:

Tazkia Institute and IsDB are actively involved in designing scholarship programs that enable international students to continue their education at Tazkia Institute. This initiative aims to support talented individuals who wish to advance their studies in Islamic finance, economics, and related fields.

Concrete Steps: Discussions during the visit to Kuala Lumpur have laid the foundation for this scholarship program. The implementation plan for this program will be further formalized at the IsDB Jakarta office, where the two institutions will collaborate to prepare a draft agreement

Sudanese Student Scholarships: In an effort to provide educational opportunities to Sudanese students, both institutions are actively working on concrete plans to provide scholarships to Sudanese students currently enrolled at Tazkia Institute. This initiative underscores its commitment to fostering educational growth and international cooperation.

The visit to IsDB marks an important milestone in the Tazkia Institute’s journey towards global academic excellence. The fruitful discussions and shared vision of collaboration underscore the commitment of both institutions to provide a positive impact in the fields of Islamic finance and education.

As a follow-up to this visit, further discussions are scheduled to take place in Jakarta, where an MoU between Tazkia and IsDB will be developed and signed, formalizing their collaboration and setting the stage for the realization of these initiatives.
